Hi, I am looking for any info, about Hickeys, in Touraneena. My Grand Father,Michael Joseph Hickey was born there, in the 1800's. Believe there are still relatives there. He came to U.S.,  with his brothers, when he was 16. Thankas for any info you may have.

Hi there,

My name is Regina Hickey, from Touraneena, Ballinamult.  My grandfather's name is Tommy Hickey, married to Kathleen Hickey.  They have 2 sons - Michael and Richard (my dad) and 4 daughters.  I know that my grandfather has relivives in the stated, and as a child i can remenber writing to a pen pal called Simone.  Not sure weather this helps or not.  The majority of Hickeys in Touraneena are related to each other.  There is quite a gang of us.  I was also named after a relitive of my grandfathers in the states.  Not sure if this helps.  Let me know if it does.

Hi there, Regina here again.

A bit more info on my family tree!  My grandfather (Tommy Hickey) had an uncle who went to the states when he was about 16 with his brother and sister.  His name was Cpt. Tom Hickey who joined the USA Army.  His sisters name was Nan, they lived in Boston and I think they died about 10 years ago .  I also have relitives called the Biff, Regina and Simonne O' Flahertys who sitll live in Boston as far as I'm aware. Hope this helps.
